Quiksilver names new director, reports FY results

US-based outdoor sports lifestyle company Quiksilver, Inc. has named Heidi Ueberroth to its board of directors. Ms Ueberroth currently serves as president, Global Marketing Partnerships and International Business Operations for the National Basketball Association. She is responsible for directing the league's business initiatives globally.
Meanwhile the company reported improved financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended October 31. Consolidated net revenues for the fourth quarter increased 22% to $778.4 million versus $637.4 million in the comparable period last year. Consolidated net income increased 94% to $65.3 million from $33.6 million.
Consolidated net revenues for the full year of fiscal 2006 increased 33% to reach $2.36 billion from the $1.78 billion posted in fiscal 2005. Net income decreased 13% to $93 million from $107.1 million last year.
Quiksilver designs, produces and distributes branded apparel, winter sports and golf equipment, footwear, accessories and related products.
