Unifi to introduce recycled performance yarn

Unifi Inc. is to launch its first 100% recycled performance yarn. According to the company, its new Repreve yarn can incorporate the benefits of Sorbtek moisture management and/or Reflexx performance stretch, resulting in a 100% recycled yarn with permanent performance.
The yarn, which forms part of the company’s all-in-one performance yarn family, adheres to the Federal Trade Commission guidelines for recycled products. Unifi maintains that for every pound of Repreve produced, half a gallon of gasoline is conserved.
The new yarn will be launched at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in January.
