France and Germany post highest pre-Christmas on-line shopping

According to a study on European online holiday shopping activity in the U.K., France and Germany
conducted by comScore Networksthe week ending December 10, was the most active on-line shopping week to date in both France and Germany, with visits to secure web pages increasing 90% in France and 76% in Germany, compared with the pre-holiday shopping period from August 28 to October 29. During this week, the UK saw a 69% increase.

“With only two weeks left until Christmas, shoppers are grabbing their lists and flocking to on-line retailers,” said Bob Ivins managing director of comScore Europe.  “Cyber traffic levels are approaching twice their pre-holiday levels at on-line retailersespecially in France, which reached a new peak this week.”
