Carvico launches new (r)evolution fabric
Italian warp-knitted fabric manufacturer Carvico has launched a new fabric, (r)evolution, designed to be used for sports, fitness and leisurewear.
The fabric is said to offer freedom of movement and a high level of muscular compression. It is reportedly 50% thinner than standard equivalent fabrics and provides a ‘second skin’ fit. The fabric stretches equally in terms of width and length and gives a high piling resistance. It is also chlorine resistant thanks to the Xtra-Life Lycra used in combination with the new fabric structure.
According to Carvico, (r)evolution has undergone a series of tests such as the Sand test which evaluates the number of sand particles that remain trapped in the fabric fibres after ’intense’ use of a swimsuit—in which the fabric scored five out of five—and the Curling test, which examines the extent to which the fabric curls under three different conditions, i.e. flat, in tension and hanging—in which it scored highly in all three categories.
