Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Mr Montgomerie will wear Ecco golf shoes during all on-course activities, appear at its functions and participate in product development. The Scottish player will also wear the company’s logo on the sleeve of his golf shirt.

Currently ranked number 17 in the world golf rankings, he has registered more than 40 professional wins on five continents, most recently winning the 2006 UBS Hong Kong Open. He was also selected to play in his eighth Ryder Cup in 2006, where he helped the European team achieve its third consecutive victory.
