New head of Women’s Fitness at Nike

Apparel executive Heidi O’Neill has been appointed as head of Nike’s new global Women’s Fitness business for the footwear, apparel and equipment segments. She will report to Trevor Edwards, vice president of Global Brand and Category Management.

Ms O'Neill joined Nike in 1998 as a marketing director for apparel and her most recent role was vice president of US apparel. Prior to joining the company, she served as marketing director for the Dockers brand at Levi Strauss & Co.

In partnership with global athletes such as Maria Sharapova, the company has been focusing on women’s fitness, emphasising running, walking, cardio, yoga and fitness dance.
