New report shows growth in sales for wool industry

Research and Markets has released a new ‘Wool Industry - Business Ratio Report’, which analyses company and industry performance over the three years to January 7, 2006, and provides financial analysis on the leading 48 companies in the sector. The study Includes performance league tables, individual company profiles, an industry overview and industry averages.

According to the report, during the three-year period, the average company saw sales increase by 7.2%, from £18.2 million in 2003/04 to £19.5 million in 2005/06. Pre-tax profits rose at the higher rate of 43.8%, from £356,000 in the first year of analysis to £512,000 in the final year. The average number of employees at each company fell by nine to stand at 162 in 2005/06.
