CEO of Rohm and Haas receives Chemical Industry Medal

The Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), American Section, is to award the 2007 Chemical Industry Medal to chairman, president and CEO of Rohm and Haas Company, Raj Gupta, at a ceremony to be held in New York, on March 8.
The medal is awarded annually for ‘contributions toward the growth of the chemical industry’.
Throughout his 35-year career with the company, during which he has worked on three continents, Mr Gupta has helped to transform Rohm and Haas into a global leader which generates revenues of $8 billion a year, producing and selling specialty materials on six continents.
Mr Gupta is currently a director of Tyco International Ltd. and the Vanguard Group. He has also served as a past chairman of the American Chemistry Council, the International Council of Chemical Associations, and the Society of Chemical Industry, American Section.
