New moisture management yarn from Nilit

26/01/2007

Israel-based manufacturer of nylon 6.6 Nilit has launched a new moisture wicking yarn, Sensil Aquarius.

The ‘micro-channels’ in the new yarns are said to carry moisture away from the body through capillary-like structures that are formed by the bundle of filaments.

The company will officially launch the new yarn at the forthcoming ispo winter show, in Munich.

Marketing manager Oded Breier commented, “We set out to create intrinsically modified nylon 6.6 yarns (that is, in the polymer itself and not a topical treatment) with special cross-sections that improve the hydrophilic attributes of the garment/fabric that actually help move moisture away from the wearer, to give them a feeling of dryness and comfort.”
