Sales rise at Under Armour

Branded US performance apparel and footwear company Under Armour Inc. has posted a 55% increase in revenue for its fourth quarter, ended December 31. Revenues totalled $135.3 million compared with $87.3 million in the comparable period in 2005.
Apparel revenues accounted for $35.6 million of the year-on-year increase whilst footwear revenues reached $9.3 million largely driven by a new range of baseball and softball cleats.
Net income improved 69.4% to $11.9 million, compared with $7 million for the same period in 2005. Apparel revenues increased 43.2% over the prior year and the Compression and Training categories continued to drive revenue growth.
Net revenues for the full year increased 53.2% to $430.7 million from $281.1 million in 2005. Net income increased 97.7% to $39 million compared with $19.7 million in the prior year. Apparel revenues grew 42.5% and the footwear launch contributed $26.9 million to net revenues for the full year.
