Eschler forms Asian joint venture

Having managed Thailand-based producer of embroidery materials, Thaiknit, since 2001, Swiss knitwear company Christian Eschler AG has now extended its Asian business through a joint venture with the Thai family Yeh (Tong Siang Co. Ltd. and Penn Asia Co Ltd.) under the company name Esto Asia Co. Ltd. The new company, located at the Tong Siang site north-west of Bangkok, will manufacture laminates, bondings and membrane technology (based on hotmelt-technology with engraving rollers).

CEO Peter Eschler hopes the new venture will boost growth in the advancing Asian market as the products manufactured in Thailand will be sold to Eschler’s Asian customers. The company will continue to serve the European market from its Swiss locations in Bühler and Münchwilen.
