Net sales for the three-month period increased 26.4% to a second quarter record of $72.9 million compared with $57.7 million in the prior-year period. The increase was primarily attributed to the addition of FunTees, which led to a 65.2% sales increase in the activewear segment, and strong sales in the Soffe apparel business, which achieved a 22.3% sales increase in this period. On a less positive note, net income for the quarter fell to $0.6 million from $2.4 million in the corresponding period last year.

For the third quarter ended March 31, sales are expected to be in the range of $84 to $88 million compared with sales of $69.4 million in the prior year quarter.
