Huntsman to sell US base chemicals and polymers business
US-based chemical company Huntsman has reported lower revenues of $2,535.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2006, compared with $2,555.9 million for the same period in 2005. Net income reached $80.2 million from a net loss of $65 million for the comparable period in the prior year.
Meanwhile, on February 14, the company entered into a definitive agreement to sell its US Base Chemicals and Polymers business to Flint Hills Resources, LLC, a division of Koch Industries, Inc. for a total expected value of approximately $761 million. The sale is planned to close in the third quarter of 2007.
