H. Harold MacNeill, founder of the MacNeill Engineering Co. died on January 5, he was 99 years old.

Having been established in 1931, the company manufactures spikes and cleats for the athletic footwear industry, supplying spikes and cleats for golf, baseball, soccer and track under the ‘Champ brand name.

Mr McNeill, who remained active in the business until his death, also authored a book "A Century of Change: My Story" which he published in 1998.

He is survived by four children, including Harris MacNeill, who is still involved with the company, nine grandsons, two great-grandsons, and one great-great-grandson.
