Nanotechnology conference to be held in South Africa

Industry leaders from around the world will meet in Pretoria, South Africa, on April 23-24, to discuss the potential of nanotechnology in southern Africa. From water to textiles and from mining to medicine, the World Nano-Economic Congress (WNEC) South Africa will explore how this technology can offer both social and financial benefits to the region.

Companies such as US-based pharmaceutical firm Pfizer and Dutch chemical company DSM will highlight the rapid development of nanotechnology research and commercialisation in the country as well as assessing the value of nanotechnology as a platform technology for developing and emerging economies.

The event is being organised by London-based global nanotechnology consulting and intelligence company Cientifica Ltd.
