Financial turnaround at Rhodia in 2006

France-based provider of speciality and intermediate chemicals Rhodia has exceeded its recovery targets set three years ago. Net sales rose 6.4% in 2006 to reach €4,810 million from €4,521 million in 2005. This was driven by a 2.9% growth in volume and a 4.8% positive impact from price increases which offset the rise in costs of raw materials and energy.
Operating profit improved to €359 million compared with €66 million in 2005, whilst net income reached €62 million compared with a net loss of €616 million in 2005.
