Record 2006 results at Lenzing
As a result of expansion within its core business, Austrian manufacturer of man-made cellulose fibres Lenzing Group has reported record financial results for 2006.
Sales increased 16.8% to €1.1 billion million (2005: €942.6 million), exceeding the €1 billion mark for the first time. Net income was €83.9 million (2005: €56.9 million), an increase of 48%.
According to the company, its Textile Fibers business unit greatly benefited from the development of new fibre applications and the corresponding increase in market share. Extensive investment in capacity expansion has also been made. Good market conditions, in particular global demand for fibre specialties, enabled several price increases for both textile and nonwoven fibres.
