Malden Mills becomes Polartec
US-based textile producer known for a century as Malden Mills has been renamed Polartec, LLC—the name of the fleece fabric for which the company is famous—following the completion of a $44 million acquisition of the company by Chrysalis Capital Partners, a private equity firm.

Commenting on the launch of the newly-named company, Mr Spillane said, "This day represents a fresh start for our Polartec products, brand, and employees. For the first time in more than a decade, we are able to completely focus on the needs of our customers, which call for developing, manufacturing and marketing technology solutions in performance fabrics. The distractions of the past are now behind us and we begin today to work on our future."
