Wellman increases Fortrel prices

US manufacturer of polyester products Wellman, Inc. will increase the price of all of its Fortrel polyester staple fibre products by 5 cents/lb (pound), effective with April 15 shipments.

According to the company, the price increase was necessary due to higher transportation, petrochemical-based raw materials and feedstock prices.

Wellman’s products include Fortrel brand polyester fibres and PermaClear and EcoClear brand PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging resins.
