RadiciSpandex names designer judge for scholarship
RadiciSpandex Corporation, the US subsidiary of Italy-based The Radici Group, has announced that designer Carmen Marc Valvo will serve as the designer judge and honoree for the company’s 2007 “Stretch to the Future” Design Scholarship Competition, which will take place for the first time with the junior class of The Fashion School of Kent State University in April in New York City.
Mr Valvo will lead a judging panel of fashion industry experts to determine the winners of scholarships from RadiciSpandex Corp. from among all garment categories that include women’s sportswear, eveningwear, swimwear and fantasy/bridal wear. A ‘Best Of’ prize will also be awarded in each category.

Created in 1999, the “Stretch to the Future” Design Scholarship Competition inspires the creative development of design students while educating them about the technical aspects of garment construction using fashion fabrics containing a highly technical fibre such as elastane manufactured by RadiciSpandex Corp.
