More than 100 yarn and fibre manufacturers from China and abroad will present their latest products at Yarn Expo Spring 2007 in Beijing, March 22-24.

The exhibition, which will run concurrently with Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics, will feature a range of natural, synthetic and regenerated and specialty fibres and yarns. Chinese exhibitors will showcase products ranging from rabbit and camel hair yarn through natural silk and bamboo fibre to technical and chemical fibres. Many companies will exhibit at the show for the first time this year, including several from India and Pakistan.

Nearly 5,000 visitors from 47 countries and regions attended the 2006 event, over half of which were textile manufacturers.

China’s per capita fibre consumption nearly doubled between 2000 and 2005, from 7.5 kg to 14 kg and yarn imports grew 6% in 2006 compared with 2005.
