US branded apparel company VF Corporation has appointed Aidan O'Meara as president - VF Asia Pacific, a newly-created position, effective May 1.

In his new Hong Kong-based role, Mr O'Meara will oversee the continued growth of VF's brands across Asia and the Pacific, reporting to Karl Heinz Salzburger, president of Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia.

VF first entered the Chinese market with its Lee brand in 1994, and introduced its Wrangler brand in 2003. In addition to continuing the growth of these brands, Mr O'Meara will also be responsible for all licensing, distributor and direct relationships for The North Face, Kipling, Napapijri, Eastpak and JanSport brands throughout Asia and the Pacific.

Having been with VF's international jeans division since joining the company in 1992, Mr O'Meara has served as president of VF's Jeanswear-International coalition since 2005.
