Paxar offers new apparel solution
RFID and labelling supplier Paxar is to provide an RFID solution for Portuguese clothing brand Throttleman to help to improve its retail supply chain.
The company is developing a solution for Throttleman in collaboration with Sybase and CreativeSystems and will take charge of the printing and supply of the RFID labels, while Sybase provides the software solutions and CreativeSystems controls the support and the integration of the hardware.
The new solution called, RetailID, is a platform RFID solution adapted specifically for the retail industry. It is divided into three different areas: hardware—which comprises the physical elements of RFID platform such as tags, hand-held readers, fixed antennae and readers, portals and reading tunnels; integration—which creates the link between the hardware and the RetailID solution; and RetailID Solutions—the set of business functions related to the management, control and the tracking of products. Among other benefits this element enables control, checking and tracking of products in the stores and warehouses, inventory count in real time in warehouses and stores, and new trial channels of merchandising in the store.
