US-based casual and sportswear clothing designer American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. has announced several promotions and a new appointment. On the heels of announcing record earnings and profits, the new structure is said to be designed to fuel ongoing growth at the company.

Susan McGalla has been promoted to president and chief merchandising officer, a role under which she will add Martin + OSA, the company’s new sportswear concept, to her responsibilities while continuing to oversee the company’s AE and aerie by American Eagle brands. Laura Dubin Wander will join the company as president of Martin + OSA in April, reporting directly to Ms McGalla, and will lead the design, merchandising, and marketing, as well as all operational functions for the new brand. Most recently, Ms Wander was president of Dana Buchman and Laundry by Shelli Segal, both divisions of Liz Claiborne Inc.

Meanwhile, Henry Stafford has been promoted to senior vice president and chief merchandising officer for the AE Brand, including the men’s, women’s and accessories divisions; Betsy Schumacher has been promoted to senior vice president and chief merchandising officer for aerie; and Kathy Savitt will assume the title of executive vice president and chief marketing officer for American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
