Greater demand for higher-end fabrics at Intertextile Beijing

05/04/2007

The number of visitors at apparel, fabrics and accessories trade fair Intertextile Beijing increased 10% this year to 19,000. One fifth of buyers at the event, which took place on March 22-24 in Beijing, came from 76 countries overseas.

Many of the 893 exhibitors found that higher-end textiles were in demand, supporting economic predictions that a more affluent and fashion-conscious society in China would fuel demand for higher quality—and higher priced—textiles and apparel. The show featured high-end to mass market textiles and accessories for menswear, womenswear, children's clothes, swimwear and lingerie.
