Bayer MaterialScience and Nanoledge launch new nanotechnology applications
German producer of polymers and high-performance plastics Bayer MaterialScience, and designer of industrial standard nanotube-based materials Nanoledge, introduced two new nanotechnology applications—a surfboard and skis—at the JEC Composites show held in Paris on April 3-5.
The new and improved sports applications combine Nanoledge’s Nano In technology with Bayer MaterialScience’s high performance carbon nanotubes Baytubes to achieve a composite with new mechanical and thermal properties.
The end products are not only lighter and more resistant, they are also said to have an extended life cycle.
