Net income increases 61% at Levi Strauss

American jeans and casual wear manufacturer Levi Strauss & Co. has posted improved financial results for the first quarter ended February 25.
Net revenues reached $1.04 billion compared with $968 million for the same quarter in 2006, a 7% increase.
Net income increased 61% to $87 million from $54 million, whilst gross profit increased 7% to $498 million compared with $465 million.
