American Eagle posts 35% sales increase in March

US clothing, footwear and swimwear retailer American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. has reported total sales of $271.4 million for the five weeks ended April 7. This is a 35% increase compared with the $201.6 million reported for the five-week period ended April 1, 2006.

Total sales for the year-to-date increased 27% to $437.7 million, compared with $344.7 million for the corresponding nine week period in 2006.
