A number of athletes at the Marathon des sables, held in Morocco on March 23 to April 2, wore apparel featuring Dryarn made by Italian synthetic fibres, polymers and chemicals company Aquafil.

45 Italian athletes took part in the race including Marco Olmo, whose clothing was made from the fibre, and Mario Malerba.

Dryarn is ultralight and 100% recyclable, offering performance and comfort. Lightness and resistance are necessary features for clothing worn by marathon runners and its thermal insulation properties help runners to a stable body temperature with protection from both cold and heat.
