New Turkish facility for Hyosung

Korea-based Hyosung is to establish a new creora spandex production facility near Istanbul in order to gain closer access to its European customers. This will involve an investment of $130 million and will expand the company’s production capacity by 15,000 tons per year. Production is expected to start in November.

It also plans to invest $50 million in a limited liability company in Turkey named Hyosung Istanbul Tekstil Ltd. Sti and $35 million for a plant in Zhuhai, China. With the addition of the new facility, which will increase production by 5,000 tons per year, the company’s overall annual capacity in China will be 39,000 tons and 87,000 tons globally.
