Saurer contributes to higher sales at Oerlikon

First quarter sales figures for Switzerland-based technology company Oerlikon Group showed a continuation in organic growth, increasing 20% from CHF1.03 billion ($852.9 million) to CHF1.23 billion.

The recently acquired Saurer textile segment achieved growth of 32% with sales totalling CHF564 million. Its order intake rose 26% from CHF518 million to CHF 652 million in the first quarter. With a sales share of 56%, Asia represented the most important region for this sector, whilst growth also remained strong in India, Pakistan and Indonesia.
