Alandale launches new patented knit technology
US-based Alandale Knitting has launched a new category of knit products, strataTek, which is based on a proprietary and patented knitting technique.
The technique is said to create a truly two-layer, double-sided knit construction without grin-through from side to side, allowing each side of the fabric to maintain its own character and integrity and thus enabling apparel designers to customise differences between the outward and next-to-skin layers.
The technology is also said to allow for numerous raw material combinations in front-to-back arrangements to create a new generation of reversible and two-colour applications as well as allowing a print on one side to be combined with a solid on the other.
Fabric weights range from base layer to outerwear and are available with a number of performance features including antimicrobial for odour-control, denier gradient combinations and specially-engineered cross-sections for moisture management and stretch.
