09/05/2007

Adidas Group has posted a 9% increase in sales, on a currency-neutral basis, for the first quarter, mainly driven by growth in the adidas segment and the inclusion of an additional month in the Reebok segment versus the prior year. On a like-for-like basis, including Reebok’s revenues for the full three-month periods and excluding the effect from the disposal of the Greg Norman Collection wholesale business, sales increased 4% in currency-neutral terms.

Sales improved in all regions except North America, where development was said to have been stable. In euro terms revenues increased 3% to €2.538 billion from €2.459 billion.

Currency-neutral revenues in the adidas segment increased 7%, whilst in the Reebok segment sales increased 22%. At TaylorMade-adidas Golf, currency-neutral revenues decreased 4%, however on a like-for-like basis, excluding the prior year, sales increased 5%.

On a regional basis, adidas Group sales posted strong growth in all regions except North America. Sales grew 10% in Europe on a currency-neutral basis, were flat in North America, improved 13% in Asia and increased 36% in Latin America.
