Dow raises acrylates prices
The Dow Chemical Company has increased its price for acrylic acid and esters (acrylates) effective June 1, or as allowed by individual contract terms.
The company will increase prices for glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, as follows: in North America by $0.05 per pound; in Asia Pacific by $120 per metric ton; in Middle East/Africa by $120 per metric ton; in Latin America by $120 per metric ton; and in Europe by €90 per metric ton.
Acrylic acid is used to produce acrylic esters and superabsorbent polymers. Major end-uses include acrylic latex emulsions that are used in textiles, coatings and adhesives.
