NCAA and Wilson extend partnership

16/05/2007

The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is to continue its partnership with Chicago-based sports equipment and apparel manufacturer Wilson Sporting Goods Co. as the official supplier of the game ball for all NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Divisions I, II and III Championships. Under the agreement, Wilson will retain the sole rights to manufacture NCAA-branded basketballs for players worldwide.

The first non-leather game ball in the association’s championship history, it is crafted with patented technologies that are said to improve player control. Covered in moisture-absorbing composite leather, the ball offers better grip, which is further improved with composite leather channels which are 50% deeper than those of conventional basketballs. Its Cushion Core Technology combines low-density sponge rubber with durable butyl rubber for a softer touch.
