Kazakhstan seeks Indian co-operation in textiles sector

During a recent meeting with Indian Minister of State for Industry Shri Ashwani Kumar, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Marat Tazhin, sought India’s assistance to set up industrial clusters for textiles as well as co-operation in areas of technology and financial services. In turn, the Indian minister highlighted the South East Asian country’s need for safe energy supplies in view of India’s dependence on oil and gas imports from mineral rich Kazakhstan, stating,

“Participation of Indian oil and natural gas companies in Kazakhstan would be a win-win situation for both Kazakhstan and India.”
