As part of its strategy to focus on its chemical-based business, US manufacturer of polyester products Wellman, Inc. has sold the equipment used to manufacture its Wellstrand fibre and licensed the use of the Wellstrand name in the USA to distributor of synthetic staple fibres David C. Poole Company, Inc.

Wellman’s products include PermaClear brand PET and Fortrel brand polyester fibre.
