Competition raises price pressure on breathable textiles sector

31/05/2007

Dublin-based research company Research and Markets has added market analysis firm Frost & Sullivan’s ‘World Breathable Textiles Markets’ report to its portfolio.

The report provides growth forecasts for the market from 2006 to 2013 and segmentation of the market by technology, chemistry and geography as well as by end-user application. It also provides a detailed market share analysis covering both coated and laminated textiles.

According to the report, the Asia Pacific region is becoming a favoured destination for the production of breathable textiles as a result of attractive growth rates and new participants entering the market. Meanwhile there is a definite decline in the production of breathable textiles in both Europe and North America, which will intensify as the market in Asia Pacific develops. However, high-tech applications and high specification products are likely to remain in these regions.
