Outdoor equipment, apparel and accessories company Quiksilver, Inc. has posted a 17% increase in net revenues for the second quarter ended April 30. Revenues were $603.8 million compared with $516.9 million in the second quarter of 2006. However, net loss was $4.8 million compared with net income of $3.7 million the year before.
Net revenues in the Americas increased 12% during the second quarter to $279.8 million from $250 million in the prior-year period. In US dollars, European revenues increased 24% to $268.8 million from $217.1 million. In euros, European net revenues increased 13%. Asia-Pacific net revenues increased 12% to $54 million in the second quarter from $48.2 million in the second quarter of 2006. In Australian dollars, Asia-Pacific net revenues increased 3%.
