German chemicals manufacturer BASF has raised the prices for its carboxylic acids 2-ethylhexanoic acid, formic acid and mixtures based on formic acid and propionic acid in Europe, effective immediately.

The prices for 2-ethylhexanoic acid and formic acid, 85% will increase by €40 per metric ton; formic acid, 99% will rise €60 per metric ton, Lupro-Cid will be increased €50 per metric ton, and prices for Lupro-Mix will be raised €30 per metric ton.

2-ethylhexanoic acid is used in many applications including the manufacture of plasticisers, PVC stabilisers, lubricants and drying additives for coatings.
