Asian sports shoe manufacturer Pan Group has installed new SATRA software in its eight Thai factories in Sriracha, Kabinburi, Bangkok and Ayutthaya.

Developed by UK-based technology centre SATRA, the SATRAData system is designed to provide accurate and reliable time standards for various elements or tasks carried out during footwear production, including lean manufacturing, and is said to eliminate the need for conventional time study.

Commenting on the new system, Urusaya Christathai, Pan Group’s project co-ordinator, said, “We wanted to be able to analyse and implement best methods and standardise procedures to calculate accurate time standards for costing and line balancing. SATRAData 6 has allowed us to do this.”
