Italy-based men’s clothing company Zegna has unveiled its first commercially available ‘Solar JKT’ jacket with an integrated solar solution at the Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion show currently being held in Florence, Italy.

With solar modulesbased on Interactive Wear AG’s iSolarX technology platform which was developed with Solarc in association with Zegna Sportmounted on a neoprene collar, the jacket generates solar energy which is transmitted through a conducting textile and can be stored temporarily in a buffer battery or fed directly to a connected device.

The jacket, which can recharge a mobile phone, iPod or other device using solar power, will be launched as part of the company’s spring/summer 2008 collection.
