Clariant raises prices for functional chemicals
Swiss specialty chemicals producer Clariant’s Functional Chemicals Division will increase global prices for its products containing ethylene oxide, fatty alcohols and fatty acids by 7% to 10%, effective July. Customers will be contacted individually regarding the specifics of the price increases.
Announcing the decision to raise prices, the company stated that adjustments were necessary in order to address raw material cost increases, especially for ethylene, ethylene oxide, fatty alcohol and fatty acid.
Ethylene oxide derivatives and products based on fatty alcohols and fatty acids are applied in a range of industries and segments including the fibre and textile industry, the chemical industry, paints & coatings, detergents, industrial and institutional cleaning and agro chemicals.
