Clariant implements further price increases

02/07/2007

Due to high oil prices and energy costs, and a reduced supply of key raw materials due to the closing of several production plants in China aimed at lowering the environmental impact, Swiss specialty chemicals producer Clariant has implemented further price increases for various product segments in its Textile, Leather & Paper Chemicals, Pigments & Additives and Functional Chemicals divisions with immediate effect.

In the Textile, Leather & Paper Chemicals Division prices have been raised for dyes, optical brighteners, polymer dispersions, leather chemicals and ethoxylates. The increases will be 10%-30% for specific dyes, 10%-15% for optical brighteners, 5% for chinacridones and 15% for lacquered pigments.

The Pigments & Additives Division has increased prices for pigments, preparations, polymer additives, flame retardants and intermediates.
