Arc’Teryx R-320 harness wins ispo award

Canadian developer of mountain equipment and apparel Arc’Teryx has been presented with the ispo performance award in the hardgoods category for its Arc’Teryx R-320 climbing harness.

The result of three years’ research and development, the harness is part of a new range of harnesses that are said to be dramatically lighter weight, less bulky, and more comfortable, yet equally as strong as their predecessors.

The R-320 also features Arc’teryx’s patented new Warp Strength Technology (WST) which, through the manipulation of structural materials, makes it possible to uniformly distribute weight through a thin and supple girdle thus eliminating the need for oversized padding to offset the discomfort caused by narrow load-bearing webbing.
