Highlighting the general shift towards products that combine fashion with function, Invista will unveil high-end knitted apparel with integrated High Performance Repel Teflon fabric protection from DuPont at Pitti Filati in Milan on July 4-6.

The High Performance Repel Teflon fabric protector, which can be applied to most knitted fabrics, is said to provide ‘delicate’ items such as cashmere pullovers with stain resistance against oil- and water-based products such as coffee and red wine without altering the appearance or the feel of the garment.

The technology, which forms a molecular barrier around each fibre, can be applied to the fibre itself or to the knitted fabric.
