Altama Footwear, owned by US footwear producer Phoenix Footwear Group, Inc., has been awarded a new contract by the US Department of Defense (DoD) for the purchase of hot weather infantry combat boots. The contract is worth a maximum of $99 million over a five-year period.

Altama, which was acquired by Phoenix in 2004, has supplied military specification  footwear to the DoD for over 35 years.
