VF posts record Q2 results

20/07/2007

US-based branded apparel company VF Corporation has reported record results for the second quarter ended June 30.

Revenues rose 12% to reach $1,517.4 million compared with $1,351.3 million in the comparable period in the prior-year, driven by higher revenues across its Outdoor, Jeanswear, Sportswear and Imagewear businesses.

In the Outdoor segment, total revenues improved 20% to $446.8 million whilst domestic revenues grew 10%, driven by double-digit growth in its The North Face and Reef brands and strong growth at its Vans brand. However, JanSport revenues declined in the quarter, due primarily to a shift in the timing of product shipments. Total revenues at the company’s Sportswear division, which includes the Nautica, John Varvatos, and Kipling brands, rose 9%.

Revenues for the first half reached a record $3,191 million, up 14% from the $2,806.9 million reported in the first six months of 2006.
