BASF raises prices for Elastollan

23/07/2007

Specialty chemicals producer BASF Corporation will raise the prices for all its Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (TPUs) in North America by $0.15 per pound, effective August 1.

Commenting on the increase, James Lausch, director of the Elastollan TPU business in North America, stated, “This increase reflects the ongoing strong demand for TPU and the need to address the prolonged escalation of energy costs, the continued tight supply of raw materials and the rise of transportation costs.” Elastollan TPUs are used in various industries including sports and leisure, and footwear.
