Sports footwear and apparel manufacturer Fila has named Gary Wakley as vice president, footwear.

Mr Wakley joins the company from Prince Sports Inc. where he spent the past three years as senior director of footwear and apparel. With more than 36 years' experience in the footwear and apparel industry, he has held senior product and marketing positions at companies including Bata Shoe Company, Lotto and adidas.

Mr Wakley will be based in New York and will report to president of global operations, Mr Y Cho.
